I come from a long line of obesity. I have a lot of overweight friends &family members. We all are “happy with the skin we are in”, however, as for me, given the choice I have decided to do something differently. My mom had type II diabetes. As a child I remembered the adults calling it ,“Suga”. After numerous hospitals stays, Momma would say; “please lose weight, you do not want the same fate as me.” Tragically, I lost my youngest sister, in 2005. She died in her sleep. The way I knew life had changed forever. Her autopsy revealed that her immediate cause of death was an asthma attack, however one word on the report jumped at me..Obesity. In 2006, my mom was hospitalized never to return to her earthly home again. She was my rock & my biggest cheerleader. These deaths were a great loss to our close knit family. Thru tragedy, I will gain victory. I do not know what the future holds & maybe my story may help someone along the way. I am just as you: I am a wife, a mother of three, a daughter, a sister, a relative, a friend, a coworker and a church member and I know I can do this because I am a firm believer that I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.
I post a lot to FB now, but I am going to have to get back into the habit of blogging...writing is therapy. Things have become stagnate. I am going to do a detox this weekend and take the exercises up a notch. Please check out my pic. OAN: We have snow in Mississippi!
